Decision Making:
The current US model gives too much power to the President. Although this may have seemed appropriate at the time the Constitution was drafted it no longer is. More power should be given to the congress and judicial branch. This would even out the power.

A new model for decision making:
More power must be granted to the other branches of government, especially congress. This would remove some of the president's power and balance out authority. The Senate would be able to appoint ambassadors and ratify treaties. The House of Representatives would share the power of declaring war with the Senate. The Executive branch would retain it's power over the State Department and the military. The Judicial branch would have the important tasks of interpreting treaties when necessary.

Military Bases:
Unnecessary military basses should be closed. These waste US tax money that could be used elsewhere. $626 billion in military spending is being used in these no longer needed bases. If half of these bases, mostly the larger ones, were to be closed $400 billion would be saved.

Unnecessary Troops:
  • 54000 troops in Germany
  • 11000 troops in Italy
  • 9000 troops in UK
  • 39000 troops in Japan
